Multimedia Arts Program

The Multimedia faculty and program co-creators tapped into some of the worlds most highly acclaimed multimedia production studios and software companies as they fine-tuned a curriculum which focuses on five major areas: Digital Imaging, Web Design and Production, Digital Video Arts. Animation and Writing for Multimedia Programs.

At Berkeley City College, students learn the fine points of software used in animation, film production and television studios throughout the world. Programs taught include Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Final Cut Pro, Cinema 4D, Painter, and Adobe Flash to name a few. Also taught are the MacIntosh multimedia tools: iWork, iLife, iPhoto, iMovie (web and DVD), and Garageband.

Artist, animators, designers, producers and executives from Maxon, inc., Mulkey Vision, Pixar Studios, Springer Design, True West Studios, Talman Associates, Charles Schwab, 3D Gear, Tippett Studios, Wolf Hill Studios and San Franciso AMC Siggraph, serve on the programs advisory board.

Berkeley City College’s program is dynamic, industry-centered and economical (only $46.00 per semester unit, plus other campus fees). It is one of the best programs in the Bay Area. Multimedia jobs are increasing every day and Berkeley City College is preparing students artistically and technically for these careers.
